Presenting observer trips as proof of transparent Russian elections

What it claims

Observers’ presence and a festive atmosphere at polling stations are presented as confirmation that Russian parliamentary elections are transparent, while German reports of irregularities are branded as “propaganda”. A trip to Rostov-on-Don and the composition of one group are stretched into an assessment of the entire electoral process. Differences from Germany are reduced to an image of elections as a “celebration”.
