Stoking fear of Western air defence “helplessness”

What it claims

Speculation about the possible spread of Russian drones in Mexico and North Korea is inflated into a conclusion that Western air defence has no effective response. Hypothetical scenarios of attacks on infrastructure are presented as evidence of the vulnerability of the United States and its allies. How to counter

• Technique exposure: A scenario involving possible drone transfers and a list of potential targets proves neither that such transfers exist nor that air defence is incapable. Separate speculation about a future conflict from confirmed information about weapons and defensive capabilities.
• Reframe: Mentioning missile shortages does not amount to proof that any air-defence system is helpless. Assessing defence requires information about threats, interception systems, stocks and how they are used, rather than apocalyptic speculation.
