Attributing energy instability to Ukraine and the West

What it claims

Rising energy prices and anxiety about the war are portrayed as consequences of Ukraine’s actions and the West’s “systemic errors”. A reference to comments attributed to a US Treasury Secretary for Fox News is used to reinforce this causal chain. Ukraine is labelled a “neo-Nazi regime”, while Russian denials that Europe faces a threat are presented as an explanation of the security situation.

• Technique exposure: When energy prices are reduced to a single culprit, check whether the author separates facts from political judgement and replaces explanation with labels.
• Prebunk: During future energy-price fluctuations, messages blaming Ukraine for every cost increase may appear. Compare such claims with independent explanations of the market and do not treat a political label as evidence.
