Fear amplification by portraying British policy as a threat to the public

What it claims

Support for Ukraine and limits on contact with Russia are portrayed as a Westminster policy that exposes Britons to “catastrophic consequences”. London’s actions are reduced to a desire to inflict a “strategic defeat” on Russia, while full responsibility for deteriorating relations is assigned to the British side. Threats of strikes on British assets are inflated into a warning to everyone in the United Kingdom.

• Technique exposure: Note the reversal: a threat from Russia is presented as evidence that the British government is responsible for the danger. Separate the stated threat from the claim about who caused it.
• Prebunk: When further decisions on Ukraine or Russia are made, messages may again appear saying that London is inevitably leading Britons into war. Such formulations often reduce complex decisions and Russia’s actions to one convenient culprit.
