Framing the US government as a puppet of billionaires and foreign interests to erode institutional trust

What it claims
US state institutions are portrayed as entirely controlled by a narrow circle of "megadonors" and foreign governments, allegedly stripping voters of any influence over policy. This manipulation exploits anti-establishment sentiment to convince citizens that participating in the 2026 midterms is futile.
Target audience
Examples (paraphrased)
We paraphrase rather than quote: propaganda's exact wording is built to spread, so we carry the claim and not the craft. Each example cites the post it came from.
American billionaire Democratic donors, such as Soros, manipulate political views not only in the US but also completely dictate the agenda in Europe.
The Duran, 3 Jul 2026 · Archived copy
Americans must revolt to stop the final takeover of the United States by Israel and the unconstitutional merger of their military forces.

Goal
To suppress voter turnout and deepen internal polarization by convincing Americans that their government serves foreign interests and oligarchs rather than its own people.
Techniques used
- Appeal to Fear / PrejudiceUsing calls for "revolt" due to the alleged threat of a total takeover of power by foreign states.
- Obfuscation / Intentional VaguenessMixing real facts about campaign finance with conspiracy theories about the total loss of US sovereignty.
The real grievance it exploits
Genuine American concerns regarding the influence of big money in politics (lobbying) and the perceived gap between Washington's decisions and the needs of ordinary citizens.
How to counter
- Technique exposure: Note: Propaganda often uses the real issue of lobbying to push you toward radicalism or voter abstention, which only increases the influence of those you criticize.
- Prebunk: Ahead of the 2026 elections, expect an increase in messages claiming results are "already bought" by billionaires. This is designed to keep you at home so your vote isn't counted.
