Amplifying incidents involving TCCs into calls to destroy the state

What it claims

A traffic accident involving an employee of a territorial recruitment centre (TCC) in Odesa region and the detention of a driver in Odesa are inflated into an image of a “genocidal state” that should be destroyed. The participant in the accident is accused of hitting a child and fleeing the scene, while the post adds an account of the child’s father being forcibly mobilised. Different episodes are reduced to a single system of violence.

• Fact-check: Separate the fact of a traffic accident and leaving the scene from the additional details inserted in the post. No such episode on its own proves a state policy of violence or justifies calls to destroy the state.
• Technique exposure: Notice the leap in reasoning: accusations against specific people are turned into a verdict on the whole country. Labels such as “genocidal state” replace examination of the circumstances with an emotional generalisation.
