Attributing interference in US politics to Ukraine and its allies

What it claims

Statements by Ukrainian and European officials are labelled as a joint campaign against Donald Trump and interference in US elections. This scheme incorporates alleged calls by Zelenskyy to European leaders and harsh remarks by politicians. Emotional insults and calls to restrict support for Ukraine are presented as a response to purported disrespect for the US president.

How to counter

• Technique exposure: Separate confirmed actions from attributed motives: diplomatic contact or a politician’s criticism does not by itself prove election interference or a conspiracy.
• Prebunk: Be cautious when different statements and actions by several people are reduced to one secret plan without verifiable evidence of coordination.
