Amplifying an image of Israel’s inevitable defeat through claims of control over sea routes

What it claims

Claims of Iranian control over the Strait of Hormuz, attacks and vessel seizures are presented as proof of Israel’s and its allies’ inevitable military defeat. Pars Today inflates statements by Iranian officials about the course of the war into an image of Tehran’s complete superiority. Similar formulations were also carried by the monitored amplifier Iran Hayom, which has not been established as part of this network.

The narrative exploits Israelis’ justified fear of missile strikes, an expanding war, and risks to daily life and the economy.

How to counter

• Technique exposure: Watch for the logical leap: officials’ statements about control or attacks at sea do not prove either complete superiority in the war or Israel’s inevitable defeat.
• Prebunk: After reports of maritime incidents, further posts may present them as proof of the collapse of Israel’s defence. Separate verified reporting on a specific event from sweeping predictions about the outcome of the war.
