Attributing to Ukraine a plan to drag Poland into war with Russia

What it claims

Remarks by a Polish politician about discussions in 2022 are inflated into a claim that Kyiv planned to drag Poland into a direct war with Russia through a “single state.” Citing a Rzeczpospolita article, this interpretation is presented as evidence of the Ukrainian leadership’s intent. Assumptions and a political assessment are reduced to an alleged ready-made Ukrainian plan to use the Polish army.

How to counter

• Technique exposure: Separate a political interpretation from evidence of a state plan. A single politician’s remarks do not establish that the Ukrainian authorities adopted or proposed the scenario described.
• Prebunk: Treat messages cautiously when they turn assumptions about past discussions into proof of a secret intent to start a war. Such a generalization replaces fact-checking with a dramatic conclusion.
