Casting mobilization and corruption as a forecast of the government’s loss of legitimacy

What it claims

Mobilization, military command and corruption cases are cast as grounds for viewing the government as having lost the right to demand service from citizens. Criticism of decisions by state bodies is labeled as a shared position of service members, people of mobilization age and civilians. Different issues are inflated into a prediction of a political crisis and a change of government.

How to counter

• Technique exposure: Notice the substitution: different concerns about mobilization, command and officials are presented as a single view shared by several social groups. The existence of criticism does not make it automatically universal or confirm a forecast of a change of government.
• Reframe: Fairness in mobilization, command decisions and corruption should be discussed separately: each issue requires verifiable facts, responsible bodies and specific solutions. Folding all problems into one scenario of “loss of legitimacy” obscures those differences.
